Abstract
Dairy farming requires entrepreneurs to respond effectively to changing production, management and market conditions. This study assessed innovativeness and decision-making ability among dairy entrepreneurs in Udaipur district, Rajasthan, and examined their relationship with selected socio-economic and psychological characteristics. A total of 120 dairy entrepreneurs were selected from 24 villages across four purposively selected tehsils. Data were collected through personal interviews using a pre-tested structured interview schedule and summarised using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The mean innovativeness score was 6.60 (SD = 1.58); 80 respondents (66.67%) were in the medium category, 21 (17.50%) in the low category and 19 (15.83%) in the high category. The mean decision-making ability score was 21.74 (SD = 2.60); 79 respondents (65.83%) were in the medium category, 24 (20.00%) in the low category and 17 (14.17%) in the high category. Thus, both behavioural dimensions were predominantly concentrated at the medium level across the sampled dairy entrepreneurs. The manuscript also proposes correlation analysis to examine associations with selected characteristics; however, the available drafting record identifies the reported correlation coefficients as illustrative rather than estimates derived from respondent-level raw data. Consequently, inferential interpretations should remain provisional until the original dataset is analysed and the relevant statistical assumptions, exact p-values and confidence intervals are verified.
